PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND SCOPE OF WORK
The Subcontractor shall provide all necessary plant, equipment, transport, tools and labour and the like
required to complete the all aluminium windows and doors Subcontract Works in accordance with the
Subcontract Documents, but not be limited to the following:
1. The design, site measure, fabrication, supply, delivery and installation of watertight aluminium
windows, glazing system, doors and louvres.
2. Plastic protection to all windows and doors, and plastic protection to all aluminium/glass items installed
prior to render (regardless of what level they are installed on).
3. Provide all shop drawings for review and comment prior to commencement of works.
4. Shop drawings shall show the following information:
• Layout (sectional plan and elevation) of the window assembly;
• Full size section of members;
• Method of assembly;
• Method of installation, including fixing, caulking and flashing;
• Provision for vertical and horizontal expansion;
• Junctions and trim to adjoining surfaces;
• Hardware, fittings and accessories;
• Method of glazing, including rebate depth, edge restraint, clearances and tolerances, and gasket
and sealant beads.
5. Provide as-built drawings, warranties, tools and maintenance manuals at the completion of the works,
as required by the Specification.
6. The Works shall be designed to conform to all statutory authority requirements and specified
standards.
7. Install Subheads and Subsills in advance of windows to facilitate installation of cladding.
8. Provide all necessary trims, angles, cover plates, flashing, incidental trims, stiffeners caulking,
sealants, accessories and the like to ensure the Works are weatherproof and aesthetically acceptable.
9. Supply and install all trims and angles internally and externally around aluminium frames.
10. Seal gaps between aluminium frames and other surfaces to stop air leakage.
11. The supply and delivery of all structural inserts and fixings necessary for the works.
12. Protection of the Works during and after installation and removal of protection as directed by the
Builder.
13. Supply and Installation of all type of doors and windows hardware, hinges and furniture as required,
which shall be compatible with the respective doors, windows and frames.
14. Subcontract is to coordinate and ensure that the sliding doors are handed correctly as per the
architectural drawings and hinged doors as per architect drawings. Any conflict within the architectural
drawings is to be brought to the attention of RCC for direction.
15. Allow for coordination of the works with all preceding and the following trades.
16. All windows and doors keys are to be clearly marked with unit numbers and handed over to RCC upon
final installation on site.
17. Site measure all work.
18. Allow to setout levels from grids provided by the Builder.
