        从外贸公司的招聘情况分析,外贸业务员的核心要求有如下几个:
        
        一、首先要了解产品性能,这样才能在外贸洽谈中,准确回答客户提出的问题。如美国艾瑞家纺公司的要求就是“非常熟悉家居纺织用品,包括窗帘、床上用品等”;某公司对高级针织品业务员的要求是必须和针织品打交道5年以上;某国际知名时装公司则要应聘者了解服装生产的全部工艺流程。
        
        二、外语一定要好,因为和客户的信件联系、商务谈判都要用外语。最低标准是英语六级,专业八级较受欢迎。除此之外,还要熟悉各类外贸函电、单证如信用证、提单、询价信的格式等。
        
        三、熟悉外贸流程,能够独立操作订单。某国际知名时装公司就清楚地写明:“负责国外定单的全过程跟踪,包括接单、核价、进度跟踪、出货、接汇等”。其它公司也毫无例外地表示要有跟单能力。
        
        四、拥有广泛的采购和客户资源。美国艾瑞家纺公司直言,业务员在寻找新的供应商、产品,直至运输途径上都应有丰富资源。香港德斯高公司也明确提出,应聘者应当拥有一个产品生产网络,有能力为国际采购公司提供产品。
        
        五、能随时提起行李,出差去另一个城市,也是能够当好外贸业务员的另一个指标。
